All Diseases Begin in the Gut
You would be surprised to know how many health conditions are results of having imbalance of gut bacteria!
Hippocrates, The father of modern medicine, said “All diseases begin in the Gut” and research is now proven he was absolutely right.
What is a Leaky Gut?
Consider the lining of the gut as a net with extremely small holes, so that only specific substances can pass through it. Your gut lining works as a barrier keeping out bigger particles that can damage your system.

When the “net” in your digestive tract gets damaged, it is identified as a leaky gut, which causes even bigger holes to develop in your net, so things that normally can’t pass through, are now able to. These include proteins like gluten, bad bacteria and undigested foods particles. Toxic waste can also leak from the inside of your intestinal wall into your bloodstream causing an immune reaction.
WebMD refers to leaky gut as “something of a medical mystery.” No wonder, because it isn’t even taught as a diagnosis in medical school!
“Physicians don’t know enough about the gut, which is our biggest immune system organ”-says gastroenterologist Donald Kirby, MD – Director of the Centre for Human Nutrition at the Cleveland Clinic.
Leaky Gut Symptoms and Progression
Medications (NSAIDS) like ibuprofen, Microbial overgrowth or infection, radiationtherapy / chemotherapy, stress, aging, chronic alcohol intake are all causes of a leaky gut.
This leads to inflammation throughout your system and can cause symptoms, such as:
- Bloating
- Thyroid conditions
- Fatigue
- Joint pain
- Headaches
- Skin issues like rosacea and acne
- Digestive problems
- Weight gain
Leaky Gut and the Connection to Autoimmune Disease
Leaky gut syndrome is almost always associated with autoimmune disease. In fact, reversing symptoms of autoimmune disease depends on healing the lining of the gastrointestinal tract and restoring gut bacteria balance. Any other treatment is just symptom suppression. An autoimmune disease is defined as one in which the immune system makes antibodies against its own tissues.
The good news is there’s a solution to successfully healing leaky gut. At Aarogyahaar we follow protocols with our clients, to heal their GI linings and help them see incredible results.
